Jayden turns 12!

I can't believe that I am a mother of a 12 year old!! Jayden is the kindest child that I have and I love his heart. Jayden received the priesthood on Sept 26th, I have seen such a spiritual change in him right away. He wants to do what is right and he is always the first to want to offer the prayer. I am so happy that we are a forever family.

The first couple of photos are of crazy hair day. We shaved his Mohawk the day we baked his lemon birthday cake.

Ashley and Jayden go to dress in their scout uniforms so that they could present the flag before the program started. Jayden led us all in the pledge of Allegiance. The Mayor spoke to us and gave a really good speech. Before all of this Bryson and Hailey(the girl next to him) ate breakfast together, it was really cute. She bought him popcorn the day before so he bought breakfast to share. Aw, the power of a pop tart!

Dad got a lot of tickets for this season so we went as a family. Jayden was just starting baseball so it was awesome for him. He sat near the front all by himself. It was a lot of fun and I am glad we go to go together. I love my family!

Ashley's 8th Birthday

Ashley's 8th Birthday is a week from today. In some ways I can't believe that she is eight, but sometimes she acts sooo much older that I CAN believe. I remember when I was pregnant with her being scared that I wouldn't be able to love her as much as I do Jayden, I just couldn'timagine having any more room! I guess my heart is bigger than I thought or it grew the moment I met her. She was such a beautiful baby girl and still is! I wish everyone could have the chance to have a girl in their family.

Words to explain Ashley: Independent, adventurous, loving, caring, obedient and beautiful. One word that always comes to mind when I think of Ashely is: LIFE--she is full of it.

Favorite stories:

Potty training Ashely was nothing but funny. Once I stopped trying and let it be her idea it happened really fast and she never had an accident. But before that I remember trying to convince her to wear this pull-up she got in the mail and she said "No Thank you" What do you say to that? I also remember her saying to her dad "I'm not poopin EVER!!"

A side from that I would just like to tell everyone how thankful I am for Ashely. I can see a lot of me in her and find it hard not to laugh at her instead of get mad. I know that she has the ability to lead others and I will continue to pray that she leads them down a path to good things. I love you Ashley!

Breakfast Tradition

WOW--WHAT A MESS!

Every year since our children were little we have offered them breakfast before presents so they can start the day out good before all the junk food. When they were littler we would have them eat breakfast before they could see what Santa brought them.
This year we allowed them to see what Santa brought them before eating Daddy's gourmet breakfast. After that we opened presents.

The Night Before Christmas Eve

It has become a fun Family Tradition to let the kids sleep in front of the Christmas tree. It all started with one year Randy and I bought a pre lit tree but had the other tree set up already so we just put it downstairs in our room. So we had everyone sleep in our room, it was really great just staying up late talking.

Even though they didn't go to sleep until early Christmas Eve, they had a ton of fun and everyone can can't wait until next year to do it again.

Bryson fnny: We were in the van delivering Christmas goodies and ended up talking for a few minutes. Well the kids started acting up so we left. On the way home Randy told the kids that one day when they are older and have a family on their own, they are going to call for advice on their rowdy kids and Randy is going to laugh at them and tell them good luck with that, gotta go kiss mommy. It was dead silence and the kids thought about that and then out of no where Bryson says, "Jayden you want a kiss" it was just so random and deeply serious that we all laughed.

The other day we were running late for school and before Ashley got in the van she wanted to change the number on our Santa and I got really frustrated.....I need to remember that to her this is something really hight on her priority list right now and I need to let her be a kid.

This is Ashley's list for "Winter Break" I wanted to share it because I don't know about you but I need to be reminded that I was once a kid and these things used to be my whole world at one time too. I need to slow down and remember what it was like being a kid.

We are so proud of our dancer. She did a wonderful job!! Only in AZ can you have a child dancing at the park in her swimming suit :) Ashley was in the hip hop dance and the Hawii dance.

Today for Preschool we did Sugar Cookies!! We had soooooo much fun!!! All the kids were covered in flour. Maybe we could pretend that it's the Arizona SNOW!!! I feel bad sending the kids home on a sugar high but it was too much fun to pass up.

I am soooo thankful that I had a mom that made sugar cookies with me. I can't wait for Ashley and Jayden to get home so we can make cookies sprinkled with Memories.

Our First Date

I can't believe how fast two weeks go by!! My intent was to share a lot more.....but life happens.

So the day after the dance I got a call from Randy asking me out on a date. When I asked him what we would be doing his reply was watching a movie in his friends basement. I respectively said no and that was that until this weird feeling in my stomach. April was there that day so I told her that I felt like I had made a mistake. She told me to call him back. I told her that I had lost his phone number so she suggested that I use *69, so I did. I told him that I would go if I could bring a friend along.

So Sarah and I went out with Randy and Brent. We played Croquet in the front yard of his friend Chad. I remember that he had no winning, thus was born the competitiveness between us. To this day we continue to compete against everything!

We continued to see each other everyday and while at the fireworks at Weber State I knew we were going to be married someday. Well two weeks later Randy proposed to me and I laughed at him.....oh, were you serious? Funny that just before that he asked to be my boyfriend, wow what a leap!!! Something you may not know about Randy is that he is very persistent when it comes to something he really wants. So two days later I opened the door to my handsome man with perfect hair. He was all dressed up and holding what I thought was a real rose, but it was a ring box in the shape of a rose. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Well we all know that I said "Yes."

Twelve years later I still find my husband very attractive and still with all of his Sexy wavy hair. We have a lot of fun together. He helps me to laugh when I don't want to. Fills the silence when I can't speak. He loves me for who I am and is quick to forgive my mistakes. I love Randy and look forward to more happy memories.

Our Tree!!!

We jumped in with both feet and worked really hard to get our Christmas decorations up! Here are some pictures!!

ALL the kids had a lot of fun putting the decorations on the tree, even though it is a little lopsided :) I will post some more pics later when we put the lights on outside.

Dinner was pretty good, out turkey was a little dry but still good. Ashley just learned about manners in Girl Scouts so she was helpful by setting the table. When everybody was seated we went around the table and shared what we were thankful for. The children gave a lot of thanks for their family....mostly grandparents!

When we were doing the dishes we discovered the stovetop dressing still on the stove...LOL It made a great turkey cassorole the next day. Oh well it’s just the way that life goes sometimes.

Downfall or Thanksgiving?...Dirty Dishes!!

Bryson is just sitting quietly, waiting....

Our Thanksgiving this year was really pretty relaxing. Midnight the night before our turkey was not defrosted enough to get the neck out so Randy stayed up with the turkey while doing his homework. When I awoke in the morning I found the turkey all ready to go in the bag and everything! What a great man I married! So we just cooked the turkey all day while I worked and the kids played.

When we were doing the dishes we discovered the stove top dressing still on the stove...LOL It made a great turkey casserole the next day. Oh well it’s just the way that life goes sometimes.

Thankful for RAIN

Today it is RAINING and I absolutely LOVE it!! I didn't want to wake up because I love sleeping to the sound of rain. While waiting for dinner to cook we went out with Grandma Tuke and played in the rain. Here are some pictures of our fun.

How we met

Randy and I met at an institute dance July 12, 1996. I remember seeing him for the first time, it really WAS one of those "the crowd parted and there he was" moments. I remember him just glowing! I nudged my friend and told her that I wanted to dance with him and she told me to go for it. Well I am not one to be super shy and I have had great experiences with meeting guys at dances in the past, so I went over to ask him to dance. At that moment the DJ came on saying that the dance might be ending soon because of technical difficulties..Yay! they fixed it and I was off to find my man. I did find him but chickened out. We must have went around the same group of people because I got a second chance! So I asked him to dance. It was funny because Randy asked me if I wanted to go out and my answer was "steady?" Anyone who knows me knows that I say funny things sometimes, especially when I am nervous. Well we exchanged numbers and the next day I got a call........To be continued.......

Two weeks until Twelve years

Only two weeks until I will be a married women of 12 years!! Thanks to my friend Heather Fuller's blog, she inspired me to "Go back in time." Tribute to Friends

You know it's funny where my journey takes me from day to day. Here I am strolling down a familiar road where everything is dandy and out of no where a cloud of dust sweeps me down an unexpected road. And even though I have been on paths similar to this in the past and am certain there will be more in my future, I still feel alone and scared. I try to find my way out but end up pretty much in circles. It never is the end for me though because atlas there is always a friend that comes to my rescue, to lend me a helping hand, shine their light or loan me their faith. Sometimes they come to my aid unexpectedly in a time that is unforeseen. I appreciate everyone of my friends and am so thankful for such love and unending support that they give me. They remind me to trust in myself and remind me that I am loved by my Heavenly Father, that he is always aware of my trials and that if I humbly come to him in prayer than I will receive the answers that I am looking for. I know this is cliche' but friends ARE PRICELESS and I am so very blessed to have each and every one of them. Old and new I am thankful for each one of you.
